In 1975 Mike Fox and I co-founded Richmond Junior Chess Club. After he moved out of the area in 1979 I continued to run it, with a lot of help from parents and colleagues, until 2006.
For most of that period we were arguably the strongest children’s chess club in the country, and perhaps also one of the strongest in the world.
